Thorn is a handsome 11-month-old Leopard Tortoise that has been captive bred and raised with exceptional attention to nutrition, shell development, and responsible husbandry. As a well-established juvenile, Thorn has developed a strong appetite, excellent body condition, and the healthy growth that experienced tortoise keepers look for.

Like most Leopard Tortoises at this age, the sex has not yet been determined with certainty. Reliable sex identification typically becomes possible only after several years of growth and maturity.

Thorn has been raised on a natural, high-fiber grazing diet consisting of Bermuda grass, timothy hay, dandelion greens, sow thistle, mulberry leaves, grape leaves, hibiscus flowers, prickly pear cactus pads, and other safe seasonal vegetation. Combined with routine calcium supplementation and consistent UVB exposure, this diet has encouraged strong bone development and smooth, even shell growth.

Throughout the day, Thorn enjoys grazing across the enclosure, basking beneath the heat source, exploring new areas, and resting in shaded shelters during warmer periods. This active daytime routine has contributed to healthy muscle development, sturdy limbs, and a firm, symmetrical shell with well-defined scutes.
