Olive is a healthy 10-month-old Russian Tortoise that has been captive bred and carefully raised with a strong emphasis on proper nutrition, shell development, and responsible husbandry. Now a well-established juvenile, Olive has developed a dependable feeding routine, excellent body condition, and the active daytime behavior that makes this species such a favorite among tortoise enthusiasts.

As with most juvenile Russian Tortoises, the sex has not yet been confirmed, as reliable sex determination generally isn’t possible until they mature further.

Olive eagerly grazes on a varied, high-fiber diet consisting of dandelion greens, plantain, chicory, endive, clover, broadleaf weeds, and other suitable leafy vegetation. Routine calcium supplementation and access to quality UVB lighting have supported healthy bone growth, a firm shell, and strong overall development.

During the day, Olive spends time exploring the enclosure, grazing naturally, basking beneath the heat source, and resting in shaded areas as part of a healthy daily routine.
