Meet Cedar – A Healthy Young Wood Turtle

Cedar is a thriving 8-month-old Wood Turtle that has been captive bred and carefully raised with a strong focus on proper nutrition, shell development, and species-appropriate husbandry. Now well established, Cedar is feeding confidently and is ready to join a keeper looking for a healthy juvenile turtle with an excellent start in life.

As is typical for young Wood Turtles, the sex has not yet been determined with confidence. Juvenile turtles generally cannot be sexed accurately until they mature further.

Cedar has developed a dependable appetite and eagerly accepts a varied diet consisting of leafy greens, vegetables, earthworms, insects, commercial aquatic turtle foods, and other appropriate food items offered as part of a balanced nutritional program. Regular calcium supplementation has supported healthy shell growth and strong skeletal development.

Throughout the day, Cedar enjoys exploring both the land and shallow water areas of the enclosure, basking under the heat and UVB lighting, and foraging through natural enrichment. Healthy activity levels, smooth shell growth, and excellent body condition all reflect the quality husbandry provided since hatching.
